quote of the day. kevin rudd

"A spirit that has stubbornly refused to be beaten. "

Am studying game theory. for those non-equiped by economic knowledge readers, it's simply a system to systemize strategic thinking in any matters involving two or more people, fighting for their own benefit, should they have the same interest or conflicting interest. haha, this is interesting, but as i was listening to the webcast, "again" (cuz i attended the lecture too), i felt that.. my lecturer's voice is simply too sexy to be listened to.. then off i surfed around the net and stumbled upon the above quote. by kevin rudd (oh, or by the one who wrote the script for him). what a nicely written sentence.

i noticed 2 things as the quote was going through my mind. they are both quite intuitive.
1) why on earth did kevin rudd read from the script? that's so UN-cool, this has once again triggered my respect for Mr. Obama. He is able to deliver those "goosebump-ing" sentences beautifully each time he gives a speech. obama truly president~

2) Am i reading this? Australian government apologises for the lost of CHildhood of the fellow Australian? -.- this must be one of the best stories i've come across thus far for today. In a country whereby the senior citizen can just relax and enjoy their golden ages ( cuz they will be given pension, like alot), the govt is still feeling sorry for their "lack of happy childhood memory". NICE. they should really look at how the oldies (those with no children, or with children but can be thrown into dustbin "sorry, emo emo") are struggling through to earn a living in Malaysia, or any other places in the world.

i quoted a few paragraphs from BBC.co.uk., just to let you have a clearer picture of what the beginning quote is all about.
"Some "500,000 forgotten Australians" were neglected or abused in orphanages and children's homes from 1930-1970.
The Canberra ceremony was attended by hundreds of people forced to migrate to Australia when young, some 7000 of whom still live in Australia.
Some wept openly and held each other as Mr Rudd shared stories of survivors he has spoken with- children who were beaten with belt buckles or sexually violated. "

oh, so now i think the above explanation can better justify the APOLOGY. Wish whoever was affected can live the rest of their life happily, at least should be without regret. I was wondering, will the Malaysian government ever make such a warm declaration for those affected by the Japanese invasion which started in 1945? that's from a more humanity side of it. haha, i just can't stop imagining how lovely our government would be if they were to take this action.

okie, i have been spending 20 minutes here. should get back to work. game theory, here i comee!!

function room. super snack. function room. chapter 8

hi everyone, im back again to blog about my exam preparation process. ^^

people here call it MUGGING.

oh, mugging...what a stressful word.
"as im typing now, note that it's 1.40 a.m., everyone around me is looking at their own books, notes, laptop, u name it.. seriously. some are writing notes, some are staring at the notes, some reading the book, some scrolling the middle button of the mouse."

omg...and a guy took off his jacket and showed his muscle! gosh...

hahah, please forgive my lack of decency.. im stressed up ma..

just came back from the only supper house in my residence, it's called SUPER SNACK. thefood there is so so.. not really up to my expectation for the price i paid. but since it's the one and only one..we, 2K plus residents, have inelastic demand and hence have to bear with the unjustifiable high price.

ok, sorry to bored you with the super duper annoying complaint.

gotta join the rest and continue with my notes. ta~

home.singapore.rainy day.saturday.lecture.exam.poni.jaychou.instant noodle.lays stax.

jie i miss you! haha.. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
just discovered that writing in "." form is a very useful tool in expressing one's life/day, at least at this very moment. Today is 31/10/2009. I left aussie at 13th july. wow, it's been more than 3.5 months. Time flies. When i look back, life in NUS is indeed very busy, when I could have lived the rest of my undergraduate studies in a relaxing and pretty environment. But I did not regret, NUS... indeed is a place which is full of challenges. OF course, everyone is so occupied that they sometimes do not stop and think.. what's happening. And i see a new culture here, the avarage sleeping hour for students here is 4/5 hours. Most surprisingly, someone i know can stand it not sleeping for 2 days. "fainted"...i myself slept for only 1 hour during the TERM paper "chiong" period. I was almost pulled into the tide ^.^ but blogging save me from forgetting to think... I live my life, I love my family, I love my life, I love everyone around me. Try to say it out loud, then you will really do.

it's HALLOWEEN! happy HALLOWEEN!! At first I thought of celebrating my first halloween in singapore with ping ping who came long way from malaysia, but it's raining so heavily now. -.-

IN CASE, you, my lovely friend, who is reading this and was wondering what I have been doing for the past few months, here's the report^^:

1) lectures, tutorials

2) MNO video project

3) DSC term paper

4) Mid term tests

5) PGPR(my hostel)- sleeping, cooking (having fun with cluster mates, i love 'em)

6) NUS Wushu

7) NUS Redcross (going to learn first aid soon!)

8) PREPARE FOR FINAL EXAMINATION. (the COMPETITION here is really stiff!!!)

礼仪廉耻

礼仪廉耻,国之四维,四维不张,国乃灭亡。

百行以孝为先。

今日事,今日毕。

知之为知之,不知为不知,是知也。

These are what I always come across recently.
The power of these mandarin teachings are fantastic. The true wisdom they are.
